About Us
Northstar Productions is a hunting and outdoor field gathering and full production company. We have been producing VHS and DVD titles for over twenty years. Currently we have fifteen DVD titles and numerous television productions that are being marketed through out the United States and some Internationally.
Northstar was formed as a partnership with John McClendon and Mike Whelan in 1986. Their goal was to film and prepare high quality, ethical hunting videos that would entertain and educate their viewers.
John McClendon was born in Arizona and still lives there. He outfits in Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico & Utah. He is a well known guide. John has taken many P&Y bulls. Two of these bulls were taken in Arizona and score 399 and 398 respectively. His third largest bull was taken in New Mexico and scored 375 1/8, which was a state record at that time. Mike Whelan was born and raised in Arizona. He has outfitted and guided for many years in Arizona, New Mexico and Mexico. He no longer outfits or guides and is concentrating on packing his own bow and a video camera.
John and Mike have not been alone in these productions. Both family members and good friends have participated in the field acquisition, hunts and the actual producing of our productions. These productions and their content would not have been possible without the participation, labor and generous help of family and friends.
